Telescopes, Binoculars, Amateur Astronomy, Astrophotography and the RV Lifestyle

StarShoot Pro Orion's New Astrophotography Camera

Welcome to the RV Star Gazer. This is my blog on my experiences as an amateur astronomer. I am a full time RV’er and find astronomy a great hobby for RV’ers. RV’ers are always concerned about the size and weight of everything they carry with them. The equipment needed for amateur astronomy is reasonable in both size and weight. This is a great hobby, especially during the summer months when we’re often camping in areas far from the pollution of big city lights. You can get started with nothing more than a good set of binoculars and a reasonable telescope Soon you’ll be enjoying the great outdoors as you gaze at the stars.

We’ll look at telescopes, binoculars and other equipment used in astro photography. We explore what brands and models are best for general all-around use, but most of all we’ll explore which ones work well with the RV lifestyle.

Amateur astonomy can be a rewarding hobby.I first got into it when I starting living as a full time RV’er.My grandchildren are completely fascinated by it and dearly love to visit “papaw” and gaze at the stars. It’s a fun activity we can do together as well as very educational for the kids.

Check back often as I pass on my experiences and even some great photos as I explore this rewarding hobby.
